Safety
Safety and verification at Opieko
Here's exactly what Opieko checks before a caregiver profile goes live, how we protect your contact details before payment, and where to raise a complaint.
Credential verification
When registering, every caregiver selects their profession and submits the matching documents — such as a professional licence number, diploma, or an RPWDL registry entry — drawn from Opieko's catalog of accepted document types. Before a profile becomes visible to organizers, the Opieko team reviews these documents and qualifications. This is an administrative review: it confirms the documents were submitted and match the declared profession — it is not licensing, insurance verification, or any other form of professional oversight.
Identity verification and AML
To accept payments, every caregiver completes identity verification (KYC) and anti-money-laundering (AML) checks run by Tpay — a licensed payment operator supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). ID scans and bank account details go straight to Tpay — Opieko never sees or stores them.
Chat and the gradual reveal of contact details
Chat with a caregiver opens right away once you send a request, but until the booking is confirmed and paid, messages pass through a filter that hides phone numbers, email addresses and the exact address. That lets you work out the details of the visit before either side sees the other's contact information.
- Request: chat opens right away, and the filter hides contact details.
- Caregiver confirmation: the organizer learns the caregiver's full surname.
- Payment: only payment unlocks the phone number and the exact visit address.
Data protection and GDPR
We collect only the data needed to arrange and bill a visit, in line with GDPR. You can review the details at any time, or ask us to delete your account and its associated data.
Complaints and disputes
Report a complaint about a completed service directly to the caregiver, or use the dispute function available on a paid booking. Full rules, including complaints about the platform itself, are in the Terms of Service.
What Opieko is not
Opieko is not an employer of caregivers — each one is an independent provider who sets their own scope and price. Opieko does not provide medical or care services and is not a party to the service contract between organizer and caregiver — we are the technology platform that connects them and handles payment.
